This message was sent to all ward members via email, 15 April 2021.
Dear brothers and sisters,
The Jamaica 1st Ward and its members have been invited to participate in a free legal clinic on immigrants’ rights, organized by the Interfaith Center of New York and the New York Law School Asylum Clinic.
Immigrants Rights Legal Clinic
Monday 19 April 2021
6.00–8.00pm
This online presentation will cover the topics of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), immigration fraud, and changes to immigration law due to COVID-19.
Note that this is not a political event and will not focus on influencing immigration policy. Further, this legal clinic will not provide legal consultations, but rather just presentations.
Many members of our ward and our community are immigrants and this is an excellent opportunity to get expert answers to questions you may have about immigration, especially in light of major changes in the United States in the last year.
Cosponsors of this clinic include:
- The Interfaith Center of New York
- New York Law School
- Sikh Coalition
- Sikh Cultural Society Gurdwara
- Jamaica 1st Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
- United Madrassi Association
- United Arya Samaj Federation
Sincerely,
Dustin Tyler Joyce
Bishop, Jamaica 1st Ward
