This message was sent to all ward members via email, 23 March 2021.
Dear brothers and sisters,
Over the past several months, many of you have become familiar with going to jamaica1stward.org to register to attend sacrament meeting in person.
In an effort to communicate better with ward members and provide information in a single, consistent location, jamaica1stward.org has been expanded into a full-fledged website. The site is mobile-friendly, meaning it is just as easy to use on a smartphone or tablet as it is on a computer. We will work to keep it up to date, so you will always know where you can find reliable, current information about whatโs going on in our ward.
Ward members and others will still use the site to register to attend sacrament meeting, but we have posted several additional resources to the site and will soon post more. These include:
- Current ward meeting schedules
- The schedule of conference talks for Relief Society lessons
- Guidance for administering the sacrament at home if you are not able to attend church in person during the COVID-19 pandemic
- How to pay tithing and other church donations online
- The schedule of stake youth devotionals and information about the monthly Young Women challenge
- The ward email newsletter, with links to past issues and an option to subscribe
- Links to other church websites and online resources for this area and around the world
- Our reopening dashboard, with data about the COVID-19 pandemic in our ward boundaries
We invite you to explore the website and check out these and other resources we are making available. If you have any suggestions on how to improve the site, we welcome your feedback.
And, of course, please note that this is not an official church website. You can still find the churchโs official website at ChurchofJesusChrist.org, and we invite you to use it often.
We hope you find this new resource helpful as you seek to serve and be involved in the Jamaica 1st Ward.
Sincerely,
Dustin Tyler Joyce
Bishop, Jamaica 1st Ward
