This message was sent to all ward members via email, 19 January 2024.
Dear brothers and sisters,
I am looking forward to joining many of you at the New-York Historical Society tomorrow, Saturday 20 January, to view their current exhibit Acts of Faith: Religion and the American West. As many of you know, early members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints played a prominent role in the westward expansion of the United States throughout the 1800s, so this exhibit features the church and aspects of its early history prominently, including artifacts from church history that are rarely seen on display in New York City.
Here are some helpful details about our visit:
Location
New-York Historical Society
170 Central Park West (at 77th Street)

What does the museum include?
In addition to the Acts of Faith exhibit, your admission will include all parts of the museum. Here are some other highlights you may want to explore:
- The re-creation of the Oval Office, the presidentโs office in the White House, on the 4th floor.
- The Gallery of Tiffany Lamps, one of the largest in the world, also on the 4th floor.
- The exhibit of vintage toys and trains dating from 1850 to 1940, on the 1st floor.
- The DiMenna Childrenโs History Museum, on the lower level.
We will also plan on watching the museumโs 18-minute film about the history of New York, New York Story, at 2pm:
I encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity to see this museum. The museum will be open until 5pm, and you are welcome to stay as long as you would like.
I look forward to seeing you tomorrow.
Sincerely,
